Hi, my name is Oleksandr Dashko (aka yam_fasrpawn). I've been living in Canada since 2021 with my wife Anya and our cat Mikusyk. I work in IT, and outside of my professional life, I've always been drawn to building things that bring people together. My wife works at a library and seems to know everything about books — which is pretty amazing.
Over the past few years, I've been actively involved in the Ukrainian community in the Vancouver area. I created the Telegram group Ukrvanchat, founded a local board game club, helped with fundraising initiatives, and co-organized community events.
Through all of this, I saw how strong and supportive our community can be — but also how scattered information and connections sometimes are.
That's why I decided to build this platform.
The goal is simple: to create a shared space for Ukrainians in Vancouver to connect, share useful information, support each other, and stay closer as a community.
